Geneva Rainbow

After my French class on Tuesday I was riding the tram home and spotted the most amazing rainbow by the Jet d'Eau. I literally ran home, got my camera, and ran back to the edge of the lake to grab this shot. I think it was worth it. The light was surreal as the setting sun was shining through the dark rain clouds producing this awesome rainbow.

A Baby and a Puppy

Two shots from my recent return visit to Toronto. It was a great trip! I got a nice shot of my friend Chris and his new son when the sun was setting, giving it that nice warm glow. I also took a few pictures for my Mom of her new puppies. Yes, they are as cute as they look.

Barcelona in Photos

I was in Barcelona in May and I took a few shots as I wandered the city. I really enjoyed the markets and the aquarium - and not just because they are photogenic!

Here are some of my favorites:

Out with the old...

So I had to part with a good friend of mine last week. I loved her, but she was getting a little heavy.

I speak of my Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS. I loved that lens. It could see in the dark. Great quality, crispness and color. The one problem - weight.

It was a heavy son-of-b. When I had a good reason to use it, it wasn't so bad. If I was walking around all day with my camera, I hated lugging it around. Half the time I just didn't even bring it out since I knew I would be hurting by the end of the day.

So, I have sold it and made room in my bag for a new friend.

The Canon 70-200mm f4.

I got it used at Vistek in Toronto for a good price (thanks Derek).

I will post an update when I get a chance to test it out. But for now, my back already likes the change.

My New Site!

My online portfolio is finally ready! My new site, jessejmorgan.com, is up and running.

I used a template from Bludomain.com, which is why it looks so professional (I couldn't code to save my life).

So check it out!

Apple heart Twitter?

Valleywag is reporting that Apple is interested in purchasing twitter. Twitter, whose executives must feel like the prettiest girls at the prom right now, is the micro-blogging, addictive timewaster that has been courted by the likes of Facebook and possibly even Google.

I'm not so sure that the two companies are on the same page. Twitter is free, open and not profitable (at this point). Apple is secretive, exclusive, proprietary and profitable.

However they are both minimalists, fairly easy to use and have a cult-like following of web-savvy hip people with large disposable incomes. I, personally, am a fan of both twitter and apple (facebook is the PC of social networking in my opinion. Clunky, buggy and everyone has one).

Will this be a good marriage for Apple, Twitter and users?

Or will they even walk down the aisle at all?

I do know they would keep the vows under 140 characters...

A 3D Prosumer Camera - Seriously? Really? I need to upgrade my gear AGAIN...

So I thought this was a late April Fools joke at first. Panasonic is developing a 3D Prosumer camera. As you can tell by the poorly photoshopped glass on what appears to be a slightly photoshopped HVX-200 or similar model, it's still a "concept camera" for now.

It's only a matter of time before 3D starts to creep into the living rooms of the world. I recently watched "Coraline" in theatres and was blown away by the next-generation 3D technology (can't say the same for the film itself).

I know we live in exponential times, and cameras in particular seem to be obsolete before you take them out of the box. That being said... I'm not ready to replace my 1080p gear anytime soon.

If you want to check out the tech-specs and the official press release head over to Crunch Gear.
